This course takes about 30 minutes. You can stop at any point and pick up where you left off.

It is for everyone at work, employees, contractors, casuals, volunteers, supervisors and managers. Managers are workers too, and everything here applies to you as much as anyone.

What this course does

By the end you will be able to tell the difference between bullying, reasonable management action, harassment and discrimination and know what to do about each.

That distinction is the whole point. Most confusion about bullying comes from two beliefs that are both wrong:

  • “Being performance managed means I’m being bullied.” Usually not.
  • “If it only happened once, nothing can be done.” Often untrue: it may be a different thing with a stronger remedy.

What it is not

  • It is not legal advice. It is general information about Australian law as at 2026. Your situation may turn on facts this course cannot know.
  • It is not a complaint-handling course. If you manage people, you also need to know how to receive a complaint, investigate fairly and avoid victimising anyone. That is a separate course.
  • It cannot tell you whether what happened to you was bullying. It can tell you what the test is, and where to go.
